- Content brief
From one sentence to a brief writers can follow.
Describe the article in plain words, pick a template and choose the keywords it should rank for. Content Studio then has what it needs to plan the piece, and so does your writer if you'd rather hand it over.
The brief is where most articles go wrong.
Briefs take longer than the writing
A strategist spends an hour pulling keywords and structure together for every article.
Writers get a title and a hope
The brief says what to write about but not what it should rank for.
Every brief looks different
Each strategist has their own format, so quality depends on who wrote the brief.
Four decisions, one brief.
Say what you need
One sentence about the article, or start from a content opportunity that writes it for you.
Content opportunities →Pick the template
Each template shows how many sections it has and roughly how long it runs.
Templates →Mark the keywords
Primary or secondary, with volume, competition and intent beside each.
Open the outline
Pick two or more primary keywords and the outline is ready to generate.
Outline generator →Everything a writer needs, decided up front.
Say it the way you'd tell a colleague.
There are no forms to fill. One clear input, a template and a proofing level complete the first step.
- Plain wordsDescribe the article in a sentence or two, as you would to a writer.
- Extra fields when neededProduct pages ask for the product URL. Comparisons ask for the two URLs being compared.
- Nothing to distractA single full-width input with the Generate button underneath.
Pick the shape before the words.
A comparison and a how-to need different structures. Choosing the template first means the outline starts in the right shape.
- Twenty-four templatesPillar pages, cluster articles, comparisons, versus pages, cost guides, product, collection and location pages, case studies and more.
- Length shown up frontEach template shows its section count and estimated word count.
- Your own formatsBuild a custom template when your team has a structure of its own.
Decide what it should rank for.
Keyword choice is where briefs go vague. Here every keyword is marked primary or secondary with the numbers beside it.
- Primary and secondaryType P or S against any row. Chosen keywords appear as tags you can remove.
- Volume, competition and intentHow many search, how hard it is and what they are after, classified by SEORCE's own intent model.
- Your own keywordsType a keyword and press Enter, or load more suggestions.
- A built-in guardGenerate Outline turns on once two or more primary keywords are chosen.
A title and a deadline make a weak brief.
A brief built here carries the template, the proofing level and a full keyword plan, so the writer and the AI start from the same place.
A typical brief: a working title, a word count and maybe a keyword. The writer fills in the rest from guesswork.
A clear description, the right template, and primary and secondary keywords with volume, competition and intent.
Brief written. The outline comes next.
What is the content brief in SEORCE Content Studio?
The content brief is the first step of Content Studio's article workflow. You describe the article in a sentence, choose a template and a proofing level, and add product or comparison URLs where the template needs them. You then choose primary and secondary keywords with their volume, competition and intent. Once two or more primary keywords are chosen, the outline can be generated.

Content briefs, answered.
A sentence or two describing the article, the way you'd brief a writer. Content opportunities can fill it in for you.
Product pages ask for the product URL so the copy is written from the product itself. Comparisons ask for two URLs, one for each option being compared.
Primary keywords are what the article is built to rank for. Secondary keywords support them and are placed where they fit naturally.
Two or more give the outline enough to plan around, so Generate Outline turns on once they are selected.
Yes. Type a keyword and press Enter, or load more suggestions.
Yes. Carry on to the outline, which can be downloaded before any article is generated.
