GEO Intelligence
AI engines cite entities, not keywords: and most B2B brands are not entities yet.
ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini anchor citations to entities the model can resolve. A Wikidata item, a Wikipedia article, consistent sameAs links across LinkedIn / Crunchbase / sameAs schema: these are what tip a brand from invisible to citable. This audit shows which signals exist and which are missing.

Frequently asked questions
What is entity SEO?
The practice of making your brand recognisable to search engines and AI engines as a real-world entity rather than a string of keywords. Entities have definitions, relationships, and verifiable facts.
Why does entity recognition matter for AI?
LLMs anchor citations to known entities. If your brand has a Wikidata item, a Wikipedia page, and consistent sameAs references, AI engines treat it as a real thing. Without those signals, it is just text.
Is Wikidata the same as Wikipedia?
No. Wikidata is a machine-readable knowledge base owned by the Wikimedia Foundation. Wikipedia pulls data from it for infoboxes. Wikidata matters more for AI retrieval.
How do I get a Wikidata item?
Anyone can create one if the entity meets Wikidata's notability criteria (verifiable third-party sources). Register at wikidata.org and submit. The bar is lower than Wikipedia.
What is sameAs in schema?
A property on Organization or Person schema that links your entity to its profiles on LinkedIn, Twitter, Crunchbase, YouTube, and other known identity services. It is one of the fastest entity-building fixes.
My brand has no Wikidata item. Where do I start?
Start with Organization JSON-LD on your homepage, with sameAs pointing to every social profile. Then build third-party coverage so a Wikipedia editor can cite verifiable sources. Then apply to Wikidata.
What is a Google Knowledge Graph ID?
An internal Google identifier (like /g/11y3xk...) for an entity Google already knows about. You can look yours up at the Knowledge Graph API or using tools like Kalicube.
Can two companies share the same entity ID?
No. Each gets its own. Disambiguation happens through descriptions, images, and the sameAs network.
Does entity SEO work for personal brands?
Yes. Author entities are increasingly important for Google's E-E-A-T signals and for AI citations. Build out your author entity the same way: schema, sameAs, verifiable third-party coverage.
How often should I check my entity presence?
Quarterly. Entity data changes slowly but new sameAs properties and Wikidata improvements compound over 12 to 24 months.
What is the fastest fix on my own site?
Add complete Organization JSON-LD with logo, sameAs for every social profile, founder, foundingDate, address. Most sites miss half of these.
