Negative Keyword Deduplicator & Consolidator

Paste your negative keyword lists and the tool deduplicates, detects redundancy (where a broader negative already covers narrower ones), and outputs a clean consolidated list. Enterprise accounts carry thousands of negatives; this is the quickest way to clean them up.
PPC Intelligence
Enterprise Google Ads accounts accumulate thousands of redundant negatives.
Over time, teams add negatives at campaign, ad group, and shared-list level. Many are duplicates. Many are redundant: a broader negative like -"free" already covers -"free shipping". This tool identifies and removes both classes of waste, giving you one clean list to re-upload.

Frequently asked questions
What does this tool do?
Takes a negative keyword list and removes narrower entries covered by broader ones. Shrinks your list to the minimum needed.
Why do negative lists bloat?
Months of adding ad-hoc negatives from search terms reports. "cheap" blocks "cheap", so adding "cheap seo", "cheap seo tool" is redundant.
Can bloated negative lists hurt performance?
Marginal direct impact but hard to manage. Deduplication makes future additions sensible.
How does the deduplication logic work?
For broad match negatives: a broader term subsumes a longer one containing all its words. For phrase/exact, the matching rules change: tool handles each type.
Will the tool remove legitimately different negatives?
No. It only removes true subsets. "cheap" doesn't subsume "chair" even though they share a letter.
Does it work with all match types?
Yes. Separate dedup logic for broad, phrase, and exact match negatives.
What about negative lists shared across campaigns?
The tool processes one list at a time. For shared negative lists in Google Ads, run each list.
How large a list can it process?
Up to about 50,000 negatives in-browser. Larger needs a Python script.
Does it preserve order?
No. Output is sorted alphabetically for easier review.
Will this delete negatives from Google Ads?
No. The tool outputs a clean list; you upload it to Google Ads to replace the existing list.
How often should I run this?
Quarterly on established accounts. Monthly on fast-growing ones.
