Schema Markup Validator

Paste any JSON-LD, Microdata, or RDFa schema and validate against schema.org types + Google's rich results requirements. Catches missing required fields, type mismatches, and the subtle gotchas that stop rich snippets from appearing.
Technical SEO Intelligence
Validate your schema against schema.org + Google's rich-snippet rules.
Schema validators split into two camps: syntactic (is the JSON valid?) and semantic (does Google accept it?). We do both. Paste raw JSON-LD or a full <script> tag, and we'll check JSON syntax, @context + @type presence, required fields per type, recommended fields, and Google-specific gotchas like Product needing offers.

Frequently asked questions
What is JSON-LD schema?
A machine-readable description of what's on your page, embedded in a <script type="application/ld+json"> block. Powers Google rich results and feeds AI engines structured facts about your content.
What types of schema are worth adding?
Depends on content: Product for e-commerce, Article for editorial, LocalBusiness for physical stores, FAQPage for Q&A sections, HowTo for guides, Organization on every homepage, BreadcrumbList sitewide.
Does schema improve rankings directly?
No. It qualifies you for rich results and gives search engines + AI engines more context. Rich results get higher CTR; AI engines cite entities they can resolve.
How is this different from Google's Rich Results Test?
This validator checks schema.org compliance plus Google-specific rich result requirements plus common field errors in a single pass. Google's tool is the final arbiter for rich results.
Can I have multiple schemas on one page?
Yes. A product page can have Product + BreadcrumbList + Organization + FAQPage simultaneously. Use @graph for cleanliness.
What is @graph?
A schema.org property that lets you declare multiple entities in a single JSON-LD block, with proper references between them. Standard practice on complex pages.
How often does Google re-check schema?
On every crawl of the page. Fixes typically appear in Search Console and Rich Results within 48 to 72 hours after Google recrawls.
Does invalid schema hurt my site?
Invalid schema is simply ignored. It will not demote the page, but you lose the rich result opportunity. Google documents this at developers.google.com/search.
What is dateModified vs datePublished?
datePublished is when the content first went live. dateModified is when it was last meaningfully updated. Both help ranking for freshness-sensitive queries.
Should I add schema if nobody tells me to?
Yes for Organization, BreadcrumbList, and whatever matches the page type. These are low effort, universally accepted, and feed AI engines.
What is the single most important schema to add?
Organization on the homepage with full sameAs. It builds your entity presence, which lifts everything downstream.
