What DNS record types does this tool support?

What is an A record?
Maps a domain to an IPv4 address. The most common record type.
What is a CNAME?
An alias record pointing one domain to another. Common for www and root domain, or custom subdomain and SaaS vendor.
What is a TXT record?
Free-form text, used for SPF, DKIM, DMARC, Google verification, and various domain ownership proofs.
What is an MX record?
Mail exchanger. Tells the internet where to deliver email for the domain. Multiple MX records = failover.
What is a CAA record?
Certification Authority Authorization. Restricts which SSL certificate authorities can issue certs for the domain. Security hardening.
How does the tool query DNS?
Via Cloudflare's public DNS-over-HTTPS endpoint. Fast, authoritative, no API key needed.
What TTL means?
Time to live: how many seconds caching resolvers hold the record. Lower TTL = faster propagation; higher TTL = fewer DNS queries.
Why does the record I just changed not show up?
DNS caching. Changes propagate at the TTL of the old record. Allow at least 1 hour, up to 24 for stubborn resolvers.
Can I query DNS over an organisation firewall?
This tool uses HTTPS to Cloudflare DNS. If HTTPS to Cloudflare is allowed, DNS queries work. No port 53 required.
What is a reverse DNS lookup?
IP and domain lookup. Different mechanism (PTR records). Not covered by this tool.
