GEO-Friendly Content Checker
Score how well your content is structured for Generative Engine Optimization: the kind of content that LLMs (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and others) cite. Answer-first paragraphs, factual density, named entities, cite-worthy data.
AI Visibility Intelligence
LLMs cite content that reads like a reference work, not like a sales page.
AI engines prefer content that answers the question in the first paragraph, uses structured sections, cites original data, and names specific entities. This tool scores your content across six GEO dimensions and tells you what to add. Enterprise content ops standard.

Why these matter for AI citation
Answer-first: LLMs often extract and cite the first paragraph. Lead with the answer, then explain.
Structured sections: H2/H3 headings help the model identify discrete claims to extract.
Factual density: Content with specific numbers, dates, named studies cites better than vague prose.
Named entities: People, companies, products the model can anchor to.
Primary data: Original research, surveys, benchmarks: the content LLMs can't produce themselves.
Clear attribution: Author bylines and source citations lift credibility signals.

GEO-optimised content pairs with llms.txt and AI crawler policy
Content that cites well is wasted if AI crawlers can't access it. Set your crawler policy and publish an llms.txt.
Frequently asked questions
What is GEO?
Generative Engine Optimisation: the practice of structuring content so that generative AI engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and others) cite it in their answers. GEO differs from SEO in what it rewards.
How is GEO different from SEO?
SEO optimises for ranking in a 10-blue-links page. GEO optimises for being extracted and cited in a 1-paragraph AI answer. GEO rewards answer-first structure, specific data, and named entities more than keyword density.
Why does "answer-first" matter?
LLMs often extract the first paragraph of a page as the citable snippet. If paragraph one is throat-clearing and the actual answer is paragraph five, you lose the citation.
What counts as a "named entity"?
Specific companies, people, products, studies, places, laws, standards. "A recent study" is generic. "The 2024 Stanford HAI report" is a named entity.
Will AI engines cite content without any numbers in it?
They can but much less often. Numbers, dates, and percentages anchor citations. "Costs rose significantly" gets ignored; "costs rose 23% between 2022 and 2024" gets cited.
Does GEO replace traditional SEO?
No. The two overlap and GEO wins add Google ranking wins because the same structural signals help both. Treat GEO as additive.
What is the GEO score based on?
Six dimensions: answer-first structure, section headings, factual density, named entities, primary data signals, and clear attribution. Each scored 0 to 100.
What score is "good enough" to ship?
70+ overall. Below 50 is a sign the content reads as filler to an LLM.
Does GEO content read differently to humans?
Yes, usually better. Answer-first, scannable, specific. The same traits that help AI citation also help bounce rate on human visitors.
How does original research affect the score?
A lot. Primary data signals (surveys, benchmarks, original analysis) are the strongest GEO lever because LLMs cannot generate them.
