URL + Base64 + HTML Entity Encoder/Decoder
Encode or decode across all common formats. URL components, Base64, HTML entities, Unicode escapes, hex. Pick a format, paste, done.
Developer Utility
Every marketing team hits this when debugging UTMs, email links, or data URIs.
Click tracking rewrites your URLs with Base64-encoded payloads. Google Ads parallel tracking URL-encodes everything twice. Shopify metafields HTML-encode text. All these transformations need to be reversed before you can debug the raw value. One tool, every format.

Frequently asked questions
What formats does this tool handle?
URL encoding (percent-encoding), Base64, HTML entities, Unicode escapes, hex. Both encode and decode in each direction.
When do I need URL encoding?
Any time a URL contains characters outside the unreserved set: spaces, special characters, non-Latin alphabets, query parameter values with punctuation.
What is Base64?
A way to represent binary data as ASCII text. Each 3 bytes become 4 characters. Common in data URIs, basic auth headers, embedded images.
What is Base64URL?
A URL-safe variant that uses
- and _ instead of + and /. Used in JWT tokens. How are emojis URL-encoded?
Each emoji is a multi-byte UTF-8 sequence percent-encoded one byte at a time. A single emoji can be 9 to 12 characters encoded.
Does the tool handle large documents?
Yes, up to several MB. Larger inputs may be slow on older browsers.
What are HTML entities?
Named or numeric codes for special characters:
& for &, ' for apostrophe. Used to escape user content for safe HTML display. Why does my decoded string have mojibake?
The encoding assumed wrong character set. If the source was UTF-8 and you decoded as ISO-8859-1, non-ASCII characters garble. Match the source charset.
What is punycode?
A way to represent Unicode domain names in ASCII (
xn-- prefix). Used for internationalised domain names. Not currently in this tool.Does the tool work offline?
Yes. All encode/decode runs client-side with zero network calls.
Is encoded data secure?
No. Base64 and URL encoding are not encryption. They're reversible with no key. Don't use for secrets.
